A Strong Voice for Ward 2 in Halton Hills
Ward 2 includes Glen Williams, Stewarttown, Norval, Limehouse, Silver Creek, Ballinafad, Terra Cotta, Ashgrove, Bannockburn, Hornby, Mansewood, Scotch Block, Silver Creek, and Speyside and the many rural and urban neighbourhoods that make Halton Hills such a special place to call home. Matt Kindbom believes every community deserves strong, accessible representation that listens first, acts decisively, and delivers results. His approach is practical, fiscally responsible, and focused on protecting the character of Ward 2 while improving the municipal services residents rely on every day. The best solutions are those that reflect local knowledge and have the confidence of the people they affect. Matt believes good government listens, respects taxpayers, and works with residents to build practical solutions that strengthen our communities for today and for future generations.

3. Protecting Rural Character, Hamlets, and Main Streets
Matt Kindbom supports responsible growth that respects the character of Ward 2 and is guided by sound planning, adequate infrastructure, and meaningful public input. Rural communities and hamlets should not be treated like urban subdivisions.
He believes new development should proceed only when roads, water and wastewater services, traffic capacity, parks, schools, and other community infrastructure are able to support it. Growth should improve communities, not place existing residents at a disadvantage.
Matt believes Secondary Plans must be respected, regularly reviewed, and shaped through meaningful resident engagement. Good planning protects the unique character of our villages, hamlets, and countryside while ensuring that growth occurs in the right places and at the right pace.
Growth should fit the community, not overwhelm it.
Ward 2's rural character is one of its greatest strengths. Matt Kindbom is committed to protecting the unique identity of communities such as Glen Williams, Norval, Limehouse, Stewarttown, and the surrounding countryside that makes Halton Hills special.
He believes historic hamlets, village main streets, and rural neighbourhoods deserve planning decisions that respect their scale, history, heritage, and natural setting. Every community has its own character, and that character should guide future planning and development.
Once local character is lost, it is difficult to restore. Protecting it today is far better than trying to recreate it tomorrow.
4. Protecting What Matters
Matt Kindbom believes that protecting the natural environment is essential to preserving the character and quality of life of Ward 2.
He supports protecting natural ecosystems, streams, wetlands, creeks, valley lands, farmland, meadows, forests, and green corridors throughout Halton Hills.
He believes that development should respect the natural landscape, not replace it with manufactured substitutes or unnecessary engineered solutions.
Environmental stewardship should be at the heart of every land-use and planning decision. Practical, responsible planning protects biodiversity, water quality, natural heritage, resilient stormwater systems, and the long-term health of our community.
In Halton Hills, environmental protection and good planning must always go hand in hand.

Ward 2 residents regularly raise concerns about speeding, heavy trucks, road safety, congestion, road conditions, and noise. Matt Kindbom believes these concerns deserve prompt attention and practical, location-specific solutions.
He supports safer roads, better road maintenance, clear priorities for winter maintenance, and meaningful action to reduce the impacts of heavy truck traffic on rural roads and hamlets. Transportation planning should protect the character of our communities while improving safety for residents, pedestrians, and motorists.
Matt believes residents must be listened to before decisions are made. Public consultation should be meaningful, concerns should be acted upon, and progress should be measured by results, not promises.
Residents in Ward 2 deserve reliable municipal services, regardless of where they live. Matt Kindbom believes rural taxpayers should receive the same attention and standard of service as residents in the urban areas of Halton Hills.
He supports investing in the core infrastructure that people rely on every day, including roads, bridges, winter maintenance, drainage, stormwater management, garbage collection, broadband access, and long-term infrastructure planning.
Matt believes the basics must come first. Municipal services should be reliable, service standards should be clear and measurable, and taxpayers should be able to see that their tax dollars are delivering real results.

Rural roads, hamlets, and urban neighbourhoods each face different challenges and deserve solutions that reflect their unique needs.
Safety means more than responding to emergencies. It means creating communities where families, seniors, children, and residents of all ages can live, travel, and enjoy public spaces with confidence.
